CHRISTIAN EDUCATION Currently all Children and Youth Education classes are on summer hiatus. Classes will begin again on September 21. On Sunday mornings, child care is provided in Parish House 101 for infants and toddlers. Elementary age children are invited to 10 a.m. worship and to "Sunday Morning LIVE" children's worship program. Sunday School classes for children and youth of all ages meet in Parish House each week at 11:20 following the 10 a.m. worship services and Children's Choirs gather at 11:45 on Sunday mornings immediately following these classes. Caring teachers work with each age group to guide them to know of God's saving love for them as told in the stories of the Old and New Testament. For middle school and high school youth, class leaders and "covenant partners" help students explore the basic teachings of the Bible and the church. These classes answer many questions young people face while deciding to make an individual statement of faith in Jesus Christ and to be formally confirmed as full members of the church. Summer schedules for
children and youth include many special events in addition to regular
weekly activities. These typically include a Summer Vacation Bible
School, game nights, picnics and beach outings. CAMPS AND RETREATS Many PPC children and youth attend Presbyterian camps, in Pacific Palisades, Big Bear, or the Sierras during the summer. Summer Mission Trips are a highlight for the Sr. High youth group. Frequently, members of PPC's youth groups travel to attend national conferences and special events sponsored by the Presbyterian Church (USA). Periodically throughout the year, the youth groups plan retreats and other offsite activities for fun, fellowship and local mission outreach. PPC also supports choirs for both elementary and middle school students. High School singers and instrumentalists have opportunities to participate in special music for Sunday morning worship in the sanctuary.
