Advent Appeal

Each year during Advent the children and youth of our church conduct an Advent Appeal.  In years past, the funds raised have gone to Project Angel, Southern Louisiana Presbytery for hurricane relief,  and our own Young Children’s Space renovation to name a few.  This year funds raised will go towards purchasing animals from Heifer International.  Heifer International’s philosophy is based on long-term sustainable economic development to end hunger around the world.  $20 can buy a flock of chicks; $60, a trio of rabbits; $150, a llama; and $500, a heifer.  This year children and youth will be asked to donate their own funds to help this cause.  Envelopes will be available in their Christian Education classrooms in which to place their contributions.  Additional donations can be made during the Christmas Eve family service and by sending checks to PPC with Advent Appeal written in the memo line.  Check out Heifer International’s website at http://www.heifer.org/  for more information.
